Virgin Most Powerful
K2 Granite

Known by many as “the Savage Mountain,” K2 towers 28,251 feet above sea level. While narrowly eclipsed in height by Mt. Everest, climbers consider K2 the most dangerous and most difficult mountain to summit.
K2 climbers must conquer miserable weather, dangerously low oxygen, and climbing difficulty in this extremely remote region of northern Pakistan. In fact, George Bell, a climber on the 1953 American expedition, described K2 as “a savage mountain that tries to kill you.” This mountain certainly lives up to its reputation: approximately 20-25% of summit attempts result in death.
Originally, when the Karakoram Mountains region of the Himalayas was surveyed in the 1850s, each mountain was named K1, K2, K3, etc., with the ‘K’ standing for “Karakoram.” Surveyors subsequently asked locals for “local names” for each mountain, and nobody had a name for K2 due to its remote location, so the name remains.
At the base of this “savage mountain,” a unique form of granite exists, that is found only in this location, so the world knows it as “K2 Granite.” This bright white granite contains extremely rare splotches of blue Azurite, flecks of Feldspar, and green Malachite. Considering the unique beauty and power of this mountain, we call the rosary featuring its stunning granite “Virgin Most Powerful.”
In designing this rosary, we studied the Himalayan culture surrounding this mountain and attempted to replicate it in the design. Climbers must be strong, and this mountain is strong, so we used “expedition quality” materials on this rosary. We also observed the importance of yaks in transporting gear for expeditions to base camp. The yak is a very large, cow-like animal and boasts roughly three times the red blood cell count of a cow, which increases its oxygen-carrying capacity and results in a superior altitude tolerance, with yaks being comfortable as high as 20,000 feet above sea level. The yak is featured in this rosary in the form of genuine yak bone donut-shaped spacer beads flanking the Our Father beads!
Also, in keeping with the Asian culture of this region, we include a hand-carved gift box made of Indian Rosewood in which to store this priceless treasure. As always, the gift box is infused with the fresh smell of roses.
To our knowledge, we are the only source of a genuine K2 Granite rosary made with large, 10mm beads and sturdy, stainless steel wire. This rosary design is truly unique and cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
This rosary will prove to be a remarkable gift for mountaineers, adventurers, explorers, wilderness enthusiasts, and other appreciators of fine art. Enjoy!
